New Arrangements

It's been a long time since I've done anything with this blog.. likewise it's been a long time since I've done any crafts.. Just don't seem to have the energy or the drive.  I love doing crafts.  Hopefully I'll get back to it soon.  For now, here are some pictures of the newest Fall arrangements I will be taking to the cemetery in mid September or thereabouts...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Old Strawberry Jam Recipe...

Strawberry Jam

This is my Aunts recipe... she's gone now but I was amazed by how good this tastes..  Oh it's strawberry jam but not a strawberry in it.  It's made with mashed fresh figs, strawberry jello and sugar.

Here are some miscellaneous things I forgot to post.  I finally got the placemats done, now the dining room doesn't look so disoriented.. so much like a used furniture store where nothing matches. The placemats and table runners sort of brought it all together.. at least as much as it can be.

Would you say food is a craft?

Yesterday was a cooking day.  I don't have as many of them as I used to but when I do I am always amazed at how good of a cook I really am. lol sorry, don't mean to brag... Here are a few pictures of the yummy results...

Not new but redone

I made a centerpiece for Christmas but was never satisfied with it..   was too flat and too big around.  Just wasn't a good fit for my table.  So I ended up the other day taking it all apart, cut the base down and redid it.

Here it is.... 


Then I had two candle holders that were just never finished all the way so today I finished them...  now I'll put them away and bring them out when the holidays roll around again.

Here they are....

100% cotton.

So tired of the inferior dishcloths that I had my first try at crocheting one from 100% cotton.  I like it.  Need to make more of them. 

Valentine Arrangements..

I am so proud of these...  this time I think I've done a better job.. I had such good luck finding the flowers and containers... love the little wooden hearts that I painted and glued to the sticks to use in the arrangements.  Love all the bows and am very proud of the fact I was able to purchase the ribbons at the dollar store to make them.  I really saved a whole bunch by shopping at the dollar store first.. We wire the baskets to concrete blocks to keep them from tipping over or blowing away.  Since we live so far we can't check often so this gives us peace of mind knowing they will still be there when we go to change them.  I may cover the blocks with moss just to make them look better.. I've done that before.



Eeek I'm getting behind in postings...

Here are some cookies I made for the neighbor... these qualify for crafts, at least in my book..

 I also think the way you wrap your gifts tells if you are a crafty person or not... here are some I wrapped this year.
