Reeses.... P.B. Cups... faux of course

Today I made my version of Reeses peanut butter cups.  They are yummy delicious, but the only problem is, they are messy. The chocolate melts on the fingers so one has to eat it fast.  I'd rather eat candy really slow and let it melt in my mouth. But they are good. I used a couple of recipes, taking the parts from each that sounded the best.. Check these out..

Can you see how creamy that tastes?
Surely this qualifies as a craft.

Angels.....

Several years ago, my nephew and his wife gave me a set of three sitting angels.. Trouble is I needed a shelf to sit them on.  Time passed.  It didn't get done. But this year I wanted to put them out during the Christmas holiday... so mac cut three blocks from a 2x4, painted them white and I varnished them and put felt on the bottom, then I glued the angels to the blocks.  I'm so happy to have them ready to display when I put out the decorations ....

I told you how pretty they are.. click on the pic to really see them.  J

Yes it is... Cooking food is crafting.. yes it is. Isn't it?

Today besides a bunch of other things I made six mini fruit cake loaves and a pan full of dipped marshmallows.  I'm not too crazy about the marshmallows so I can leave them alone.

These are the best fruit cakes I've ever tasted.

I saw these on Pinterest.  I think kids will like them.

Ornaments ornaments and more ornaments

I love sales of used things like rummage, estate, yard sales and the dollar store.  I found all the ornaments at used sales.. and most of the stuff I put inside there too,  but I did find a couple of the angels at the dollar store. All the scraps of flowers, tinsel, and trims I already had. I keep all that kind of stuff and buy it through the year whenever I go to sales etc.  Here are the ornaments after I finished decorating them.  Keep in mind they were just plain glass balls when I got them. Had fun doing this and my tree will be different this year. All in all I made thirty ornaments.

Did you know if you click on the picture it will enlarge so you can see it better?  Try it.

I got so lucky, at one sale I found a card with 7 figures from the Nativity on it.  They didn't look so great inside the plastic but they were miniature figures and those are hard to find.. so I took a chance and bought them.  When I removed them from the card and plastic, they were rather cute and just the right size to fit inside some of these clear ornaments.  Made my day.

This might just be my favorite

A few more figurines under glass........

I didn't get really good pictures of these... but when I put them out for Christmas decorations I will take some more. I will group them with candles and see how they look.  I like trying new things each year.

Latest craft.... hopefully one of many

I just love these little figurines under glass..  I've seen them all over the web, especially pinterest. I thought,  HEY I can do that.  And so I made one.  I have plans to make a few more and use them as a grouping on a side table in my living room for Christmas.  Here's the first one...

Ack. How could I forget my mouse?

Whenever we go camping I take some type of craft to work on.  Last time we went our trip was cut short, so I only had a chance to do one tiny craft.. but he's a cutie. He's a white yarn mouse ornament. I just love him.  The picture isn't too good. Must try to take a different one soon, but for now, here he is.. pink eyes and all..

Merry Christmas to my people. I love you.

I've finally finished the arrangements for Christmas.  I'm not vain but I do think these are some of my best creations.. what do you think?

A mini rose in a decorated basket

Blue basket from the thrift store.. added flowers, pinecones and a wonderful blue bow.

A close up of the same basket

Long green arrangement.. much of the materials used in this came from the catholic church rummage sale.

Another view of the long green one

This is a free standing wreath.

We wired a brick on the bottom so the wind won't blow it over

Little Tree.. we put cement into the container, keeps it upright in a wind storm
Love the bow.. that ribbon came from the dollar store.

This is my pride and joy. The best of the lot. Four feet tall, silver and gold.

A pine cone tree... That ribbon came from an estate sale.

Pointsettas in a coffee can, filled with cement, covered with green foil,
This bow I made with ribbon bought at an estate sale. I just love a bargain.

Mini rose again. Love this one, so simple and plain.
